Thanks Paul: I think that there is an issue with thememagic. When I changed the background colour for the menu bar, the menu item text returned to lowercase.

However, a related issue that is that I have been trying to change the font color of a dropdown menu using Thememagic, but without success. Whenever I try to compile less to css, I get the error "Unexpected error. please refresh the page or try again later"
Any ideas?
URL is at belledressed.co.uk/life (the lifestyle template is active on this page only)
Thx
Miles

I know what you're going to say, Paul - upgrade the plugin! :)

I have just done so (to 2.5.0) and i'll let you know how I get on
Best wishes

There seems to be no change, Paul - except that the case for the top level menuitems has reverted to uppercase.

i'm still flumoxed!

Hi Miles,

We actually recommend users to stick with the version found on the download page

I can see you have added custom css for the capitalisation - are you ok now?

You may want

.navbar-default .navbar-nav > li > a, .navbar-default .navbar-nav > li > span {
text-transform: none;
}

so that should allow the first character to be upper case if required

Is thememagic working for you now?

Should have asked that :)

Thanks for the CSS Paul - that code for styling the submenus was getting beyond me!

The thememagic issue is not sorted: I make changes within TM and the changes are not reflected on the frontend. I've asked Siteground to look into the issue of not being able to compile LESS to CSS, but I'm not sure whether that's a different issue.

I also chose the option to remove content from the home page, but the content still appears.
Could this be some kind of conflict with the other template that is using the zen grid framework?

Hi Miles

Do you see any error in the console window when running thememagic and / or when trying to compile?

Is there a index.html file in the root?

Paul
I wasn't getting an error when I saved in ThemeMagic - only when I compiled, and then I got an "Unexpected Error. Please try again later" error message. Siteground told me to uninstall all of the themes except the one that I was using. I didn't find that very helpful!

Anyway, I uninstalled and re-installed Lifestyle2 (wisely or otherwise). There are still problems but I'm beginning to wonder whether it has something to do with the Windows 10 that I have recently installed. It's almost as though my changes are not being recognised because of a cache somewhere. Could that be right? (I've temporarily disabled caching within Joomla)

That's all I can think of for the moment. My brain has finally given up :S
Best wishes

Hi Miles,

I'm assuming you disabled the siteground Joomla supercache on the cpanel?

If you are still in development no caching should be enabled

Well done, Paul - you've gotit!
The supercacher was switched on, and as soon as I flushed the cache everything worked as expected.
The supercacher has now been switched off.
Thanks for your patience and persistence :)
Best wishes
