K2 Categories and Novus

Hey,
As i continue my work on customizing Novus template, I have encountered a following problem:
For the "main" position i set a K2 Categories component with a following options:
Leading count: 1
Columns for Leading: 1
Primary count: 8
Columns for primary: 4
while secondary counts/columns are zeroes.

The result isn't something I have expected. Unfortunately I keep the project on a local PC so I am attaching the saved pag (I hope You will find it OK). Looking forward Your assistance,

I've spent some time digging, and here's what I found:

K2 Category layout has the capabilities of "Layout Grid" (Category Item Layout menu). If I:
- select a Novus template for the layout and
- select anything but "1 column", in example lead (1 count/1 column) + primary (2 count/2 columns)
...and then display K2 Category in a template, the view is screwed.

Solution that worked for me: set only Leading active (5 count/1 column) and seems to be fine.

Well, I'd rather say that I found the way to stay away of it.

If I wish one day to use the K2 layout in multicolumn like in above example:

lead (1 count/1 column) + primary (2 count/2 columns)
...i will have to face it again.

Paul, did You check Yourself the above issue with the template?

If it works fine on Your installation i will come back later with a link to the server so that You could have a look by Yourself.

I've not tried it yet I was waiting to see the attachment :)

We do also have zenkit which are k2 templates which could be an option but the problem with k2 is it frequently is a setting issue

I have managed to get a public IP from my ISP, so I can link You directly to the virtual machine with a testing website:

91.207.126.198/index.php/wyprawy
(in the above i have:
- Leading count:1
- Columns for leading: 1
- Image size: Large

- Primary count: 4
- columns for primary: 2
- Image size: Medium

- Secondary count: 6
- Columns for secondary: 3
- Image size: Small

Once I set for one column, then it is fine.

I will try out the Zenkit then. Could You please revert with a download link for Zenkit? I got 404 from Your webpage:

Download link wise - that is an old link - where did you get that link from?

The link is produced by i.e. a parser of this very page, which converts a "zenkit" word to a link for "zenkit.joomlabamboo.com".

Following the link I come to page with "download" & 404.

... the Documentation or Changelog / Features links does not work.

The site exists on my desktop PC, which is unfortunately not continuously on ;) I just put it back online and will keep it as long as You need (just give me an info once You don't need it anymore).

By the way, I have noted, that for K2 the "social share" hearts are missing, i.e.:
91.207.126.198/index.php/wiedza

but they are fine for articles:

91.207.126.198/index.php/component/content/article/10-regulaminy/3-cookies?Itemid=101

I am crossing my fingers that You will find what's going on.

The ticket I have created yesterday, but so far it has a status of "unassigned" to anyone neither there is any activity. I would like to kindly remind of myself.

I have transferred the site from my desktop to a hosting server, so You have an access 24/7.

I'm sorry on the delay on this but I don't know the answer to your problem - it is on our system as an open ticket

I've checked the log in details to confirm we can access the site

I've asked the team when any are available to look at the site

Apologies for the delay in responding.

I cant access the site now as well.

If you prefer you could create an akeeba backup and post the link in the ticket and I will work on it locally.

That may be the best option in this case. Let us know if that suits.
