I am trying out maps2, and wanting to import kml file, but it is not showing.

Under markers it says: This is where the marker fields will go, but can't add.

Is this cos maps2 is not complete yet?

Kml files are loaded from the specified url rather than imported. Could you attach your file so we can test it?

Markers are added by clicking on the map. This is noted above the map in the admin screen.

I just tested the kml locally and it seems to be working for me.
You need to provide a full url. I just uploaded your file so try adding the following to the field:

robertwent.com/grid.kml

job done. I had not set permissions right.
