How do I change the black color to the right of the logo

I want to change the color of the black box or even add an image instead of the black rectangle on the top of the Client home page. See the image for the exact location. This is the space after the logo module....

If you add this style to the custom css file and then replace the colour with your own colour value

Adding an image is more problematic
