megamenu base3 (t3) not working

zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

Megamenu doen not seem to be working here (base3):

On the "navigation tab" I selected
Menu > 'Main Menu'
Dropdown Trigger > 'Click'

There is NO option: "enable Megamenu"

However, the megamenu button is shown, and I can see my (main) menu there in a horizontally-formatted style.

Unfortunately, on the frontend there doesn't seem to be any formatting at all - it is just a vertical ul/li list.

Do I have to install anything additional to the template?

Thanks & regards,

Erik

If there isn't - what version of the T3 plugin do you have installed?

Yes, there is. But no way to configure things properly. And it is not rendered on the frontend.

I added a few screenshots. T3 version is 2.6.1

Hi Erik,

The template only supports the version on the template download page

Can you try installing that

I'd suggest having a backup first, then installing and then less to css

Is the site online?

Meanwhile I 'downgraded' the T3 version to the one on the download-page : no change..

Site is online. Do you need my login creds (where can I send?)

I guess I have to upgrade the Base3 template to the latest version as well (I was using an older copy).

Can I just install the new version from the Joomla backend (thus overwrite the old version). Or will that erase my (custom) theme?

Erik

With your custom theme is it a custom less or css file?

As long as you haven't directly edited any template / less file you will be fine

I'd always backup first just to be safe

After updating template and plugin can you also click the less to css button both for the theme and other the files

Base3 is version 1.03 now, T3 is version 2.4.7. No change...

I was thinking, Build.r is (also) a kind of template framework, right? Would you recommend me to change to Build.r instead?

Thanks & regards,

Erik

So I decided to install Build.r on a test domain and guess what..? Same problem!

Clearly I am just not grasping the concept here, so please bear with me:
where/how do I choose to format my main menu in a horizontal style, including dropdown sub-menus (on hover)?

Right now it looks like an unformatted ul/li list style:

* Home
* Agenda
* About us
* Contact

Hi Erik,

With buildr you have the required extensions installed?

plugin, zen menu, shortcodes

Do you have a link for the site?

Hi Paul,

Yes, I installed (and activated) Zen Grid Framework v5 Ajax Plugin, Zen Shortcodes, Zenmenu, Zen tools2, Maps2, Skillset.

You can see it in action here: *** . Remember this is just a test(site). I just can't figure out how to format the menu-style.

Thanks for your help,

Erik

Hi Erik,

Are you publishing the module to the menu position?

Sigh... I thought I did, but it turns out I was using the name of the ROW instead of the module-name. In other words: I thought the row-name reflected the module-position and that all modules stacked in the row would be assigned to that module position.

So now that we have found which part of the concept "I didn't grasp", I will soon have new issues to bother you with. But I will do that in other threads ;)

Thanks & regards,

Erik
