Base3 Dropdown Navigation and Collapsed Nav issues

zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

Hi,

I'm using Base3 as a the new template on a J2.5 to J3 migration.
Template version: 1.0.3
T3 version: 2.4.7

www.twce.co.za/j2_migrate/

1. When using the Theme magic to specify the colours for the dropdown hover menu, they do not render correctly as the template.css specifies that those setinds are !important so it overrides the theme magic values. How can I make the theme magic values apply?
2. When the menu collapses for small screens two things are strange. The menu items that have child menus styling is different to the rest and the dropdown menu on hover should look like the dropdown menu on click. What should I do to get them to look the same?

Thanks!

Hi

I'm going a little off topic here but just wondered if you were aware there is a newer version of Base3 - its found as a pre set in the buildr template

Cheers

Hi Paul,

Yes, saw that in one of the posts, but wasn't too keen on starting again as this is the second template I'm applying to the site as developers couldn't get Rasa2 to compile... so as you can image I've spend oodles of time already customising etc.
Are module positions generally the same?
I think it uses Zen Grid Framework 5 as well so would need to change that too.
But, if you think it will be an easy change and will fix the problems then I may consider it - but with a little trepidation :)

Hi

With any site not compiling please ask us on the forum or via a ticket and we can work it through

It normally means one of

1. Hosting performance issue - not enough memory etc
2. A security extension installed in the joomla site or on the server.
3. A value or setting that is invalid and stopping the site compiling
4. A index.html file or something along those lines
5. A bug

Please don't feel you have to move templates if this crops up again and instead send us a post / ticket :)

Cheers

Going back to the site

The link doesn't seem to work for me at the moment

Positions would be a bit different and it would require all new settings to be entering in the admin

It would involve a bit more work

Hi Paul,

Soorrrry...www.twce.co.za/j3_migrate/

Wrt the compiling - had a ticket open and while I'm sure it was solvable the fact that other templates compiled ok on the site and not wanting to waste much time I decided to go for another template... :) so no worries there.

But now you can understand my reluctance to change to Base4 right now.

Hi

Is this the style you want to change?

.nav .open > a,
.nav .open > a:hover,
.nav .open > a:focus {
background: none !important;
color: #ffffff !important;
}

Hi Paul,

Thank you for the CSS styling- worked a charm.

Any news on the mobile menu?
Happening on another site using the same template.

Where do you adjust the height of the slideshow in BASE3?

Thanks

For the slideshow you would need to alter the dimensions of the images in the zentools module

Can you still create the ticket for the mobile menu

If altering the size in the zentools2 module - will the images still be responsive?

Okie dokie - will open a ticket.
