I have some video just under 10M. I want to show them on the site. I want to put them in a sliding carousel to the bottom. Can this be done? How and what's the grid position for the sliding carousel? Can I put them like how the Gazetta has it? What format does the video have to be? I've noticed I can't upload mp4 nor webm to the media folder.

Hi

With videos I would suggest using a video sharing site as they do the heavy lifting displaying the video and makes in easier to work with

It helps website performance as well I've found

Cheers

Signed up using Vimeo. Where do I put it so that it's a sliding carousel like the Gazette? What gird, what zend tool etc? Cause I think the dimensions for Vimeo are a lot smaller than the dimensions on Gazzette.

The Gazetta example is a slideshow loading articles from a category

The articles use the iframe code from the video sharing sites

For example -

<iframe src="player.vimeo.com/video/106766315" width="500" height="281" frameborder="0" webkitallowfullscreen mozallowfullscreen allowfullscreen></iframe>

Are you familiar with how to add the video syntax to an article?

Cheers

What editor are you using in the site?

Many people use the JCE editor or are using the default Joomla editor?

Right so you need to open up plugin manager and use the filters on the left to filter for editor

Then open up Editor - TinyMCE

Remove iframe from the prohibited section

without doing this when you paste in iframe code the editor will strip it out of the article or module

Once you've done that I would test loading an iframe in an article

Take the share or embed iframe code from a video sharing site and paste it into an article and see if you can see it via the front end of the website
