Image filter/effect in Base3 Slideshow

zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

I'd like to know how to remove or edit the effect in the slideshow that causes my images to display with very high exposure. I can't seem to find any settings within the module itself.

I've searched the Base3 support forum but can't see any other reference to it.

Hmm thats pretty odd :)

Do you get the same effect if the images are set to not resize?

Thanks

Hi Anthony, well spotted, the effect is removed when I deselect image resizing. Is it an unavoidable result of image resizing then?

Hi,

I think this was a bug that affected certain versions of the gd library.

Do you have the site locally or on a live server?
Updating gd should fix the issue.

Hi Rob,

I'm working on the site locally but I'll look up how to update the GD Library, thanks.

Hi Rob,

This is the GD Library version installed (Using MAMP 3.0.2):

I'm not having any luck searching for how to update the GD library. I understand it's outside of your responsibility as it lies with the localhost but if you are able to point me in the right direction I'd greatly appreciate it. I'll keep looking in the meantime.

Cheers

Think I remember some compatibilty issue with versions of php and GD

Hi Barry,

Sorry but I'm not a mac user and don't know mamp.

On linux you'd use something like this from command line
sudo apt-get upgrade gd gd-devel php-gd

If you have an online hosting account it might be easier to upload a backup of the local site (delete the cached images) then check if that's the problem.
If it is you could just carry on without changing gd versions and recreate the resized images when the site moves.

Regards

Hey Paul, version is 5.5.10 but there is the option in Mamp to change it to 5.1.6

Thanks for weighing in here
