new site, blanc page...

zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

Hello,

I have a problem with my server. I just transferred all and I get a blank page and when I try to go to a page, by typing the name I get a 404 error:

www.intertechstrategy.com/Contact
Could you help?

Hi there,

That doesn't seem to be a Joomla page as far as I can see. However if you enable error reporting - set to maximum we will have an idea what's causing the issue.

Thanks

Hmm ok.

There are so many variables here its hard to know where to start.

Your admin is accessible:
www.intertechstrategy.com/administrator/

So thats a good sign :)

See if changing templates fixes the issue.

I tried. It didn't do anything. Could it be something from the Server side?

I switched to a standard joomla template, but then I tried to upload a joomlabamboo template, the New Lifestyle and it didn't let me install! "There was an error uploading the file"

What is the upload limit on the account?

How did you transfer the site?

Where do I check the upload limit? I transfered the site with Akeeba backup and kickstart.

HI,

If you have moved the site manually then you will need to correct the path to the tmp folder in global configuration before you will be able to upload any extensions.

If you have an index.html file in the root of the domain then you will need to remove that too.

Do you have any rules in your htaccess file that may be causing an issue?

Regards,

Rob

Hi Rob. I moved the site using Akeeba backup and kickstart.php.
I don't have an index.html at this point. I have an htaccess.txt file and I'm attaching it.
Thanks,
Alina

htaccess files can cause problems depending on the server setup.
Who is your host?
Try temporarily renaming the file to see if the site then works.

My host is Green.ch. I wonder if I should change. I changed the htaccess.txt to htaccess1 and it still gave me a blank page. I created a site in html and I have it running, while I figure out the problem with the joomla site.

It's so strange. I can not install the NewLifestyle template on the server. I have Base3. So I switched to the standard Joomla Beez3. There I have a home page. If I switch back to Base3, the Beez3 stays any ways!!! http//www.intertechstrategy.com/new. Does this mean that the Host has problems with joomlabamboo templates? My site (alinamn.com) is also done in Base3 and I had problems with the host. I have another new site with another hosting company and from the beginning I had no problems.

It gets better and better. I try to customize the joomla Beez3 and it doesn't work and I don't even see the menu items to be able to navigate. It just shows a generic first joomla page and nothing more!!!

Right so it sounds like a server issue.

Can you just use the other server mentioned?

Thanks

Now I have an ugly looking site using the joomla standard.

So, what is structurally different between the standard and your templates? Last time, on the alinamn.com site, they were able to "unblock" somethings and the site started working. Before going to another host, could I just try to fix the problem with them?

Try with a free template perhaps try with T3 blank and see if that is also broken but it does sound like you need to consider moving server / Host

What do the host say when you describe the situation and the previous "unblock" ?

I downloaded a template from joomlashine.com. It did the same. I couldn't upload the template. They said they did the same changes to this site that they did to my other site. I have to call them again.
