Menu's nort working on Base 3

zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

I'm struggling with a new install of base3. I used the quick start package with a new database. The site installed without an error and looks just like the demo, however all the menus and links go to a "404 Page" not found error when clicked. I am check the database communication links but they appear to be intact. I did install all the sample data. Anyone have some thought on what I've missed?

The administrator has disabled public write access.
Do you have htaccess rewrite enabled without changing htaccess.txt or vice versa?

The administrator has disabled public write access.
htaccess has "write permissions" checked which allows writing via scripts.

If you disable the htaccess rewrite in the global config and rename the file to htaccess.txt does it work?

With errors affecting every menu link other than the home this is normally a htaccess related issue

I'm not finding htaccess in the global configuration settings in the control panel. I can access the htaccess file from my hosting control panel. Should I disable the write permissions and add the .txt from there?

Do you have rewrite urls enabled in the global config?
If so turn if off and check the site after refreshing the cache
