Removing blank modules

How do I remove those blank boxes from homepage? When I hide modules for different responsive layouts it leaves a blank box like this in place.

Can you try disabling those positions in the responsive layout section of the template - using the eyeball

But I did that, precisely. For each position I disable it leaves a blank box in place. It happens in all responsive layouts.
