I am trying to get the contact form to appear as in the demo (link from the navbar), but the form is appearing in the sidebar instead of or as well as in the main content area.
Please advise correct configuration to show it as in the demo site.

You should use Module as "Panel type" and publish contact module in a panel module position (in panle6 module position for example, if you set Panel6 as Module panel type

I still can't get this working. There is no Module "Panel type" and there is no Panel 6 position.
I should create a menu item to point to the form, published in position sidebar-below-nav ? But then the form is appearing in the nav bar.
How do I have the navigation appear in the nav bar but the form open in the main content area? Like here demo.joomlabamboo.com/index.php?theme=mar14
on the contact us link.

Right, got it now.
Had not changed the position in the Template to reflect the position in the module.
Its working just fine now, thanks for your help!
