I would prefer to be enabled by it though ,, than limited....

how do I extend the length of the pages...
that is if I call an article page presently the page has no scroll bars.
however, the gallery page does allow scrolling .....

If you update to the latest template version that should be added
Although it may be worth waiting for the update for additional panels to be added

I'll check but I think the footer isn't possible as it affect all the different panel types

With the added panels we are working on is it possible to use one of those and add the text content to a module?

Good suggestion! This might work. Anyway, I'm be aware that profilr is a one page profile template and that one has to think about each modification or extension if it does fit into the general concept of the template.

We haven't yet updated the template with the extra panels but yes its a case of downloading the standard (not Quickstart template) and installing that via the Joomla installer

You should not uninstall the existing template version
