So basically with this template you can't have a menu that goes to a product page for example. I was thinking this would be cool if it were possible because from what I've read you can only use the panels in template mgr for navigation etc

Hi

Its as you say - its controlled by the template settings not by a menu

Hi

1. Yes it is possible but I'll need to check how to do this

2. You use the module position the module is published to - the option to load a module triggers a position box. Enter the position name there

Hey Gomay,

We add module positions int he sidebar so you could use menu items and multiple instances of the template to create the effect of having sub pages.

So you would.

1. Create a module in one of the sidebar positions.
2. Create a menu item pointing to a page.
3. Duplicate the template and assign the new template instance to the new menu item.
4. Then you can populate the new template with new content.

Cheers

Hi

Talking to Anthony it is quite complex to do - I'll ask Anthony to reply here when he is available (different time zones)

Content wise you would need to load a custom module rather than a article

When you say mimic content - what exactly are you looking to do?

As custom html module is suitable for adding content - images, text etc

Regarding the black background - do you still have in the style box for the tab - a black overlay selected to show?

If so it needs to be set to no style instead

Hi there,

There are always going to be people with different needs in terms of this theme and I thought 7 (including the home page) was the sweet spot :)

It's certainly possible to add more panels but it wont be added to the default template. There is a fair amount of extra code required to add each panel so unfortunately it's not just a simple job. Also I felt that adding more panels lead to a more confused sidebar navigation.

We would be happy to do this for you as a part of a custom project but it's not something that will be added to the default template.

Thanks Anthony

Anthony ...

between myself and the other guy giving feedback.. just on this one template alone ie your customers

... hearing a lot of can't and won't so far ... with your responses....

I would have thought it an opportunity for you guys to show that you listen to your customers and can adopt the changes requested ... because that is what will help your customers achieve their goals, makes them happy that they did business with you and will use you again in the future ...

Hi Justin,

Thanks for your feedback and I certainly hear that concern.

We are trying to push out a number of things at the moment so I'm trying to be more focussed than normal.

Much of these forums are taken up with giving folks help extending and tweaking our themes, so we have a long history of doing this. This is what brings folks back to us.

But the key point of your message is right in that we don't build live sites with our themes (well not often anyway) and so you guys know what makes a theme "work". So given this I will add the extra panels this week sometime.

Thanks
