New Lifestyle Banner Behavior Not Working

zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

Hello,

For some odd reason, the banner is not behaving. Any option I select from the drop down, whether it be external links or content item, the banner images are not clickable. Any ideas? I really want the external links selection, but even the way I set it has no effect. Here is what I have in settings. Any ideas? Site is www.jondavidsalon.today.

Hi Nader,

The slideshow is set to backstretch in zentools is that correct?

Are you ok with what the problem is?

e.g. this type of zentools slideshow means the images aren't clickable

Hi Paul,

No, I need them to be clickable, however, the way it was when default, it pixalized the image if that makes sense as it was a smart resize of the image. I wanted the banner images to be crisp and a specific size so I know exactly what is showing in the banner (top and bottom crop), so I changed it to what made the images most clear. Is there something I can do to have them clickable and crisp at the same time?

Thanks,
Nader

Hi Paul,

I just put it at standard and then set exact size crop to make it clickable, but the images aren't as crisp for some odd reason. I don't understand why that is. If I don't put a resize, the banners break showing no images, but when I put resize it shows up. At least they're clickable now. I'm just not sure why it's not as crisp as the backstretch mode.

Thanks,
Nader

Hi Paul,

One more question. I'm fine the way I have it now, but the arrows on the banner don't look good like in the live demo. everything is all set except for this. Can you help? here's how it currently looks.

Please let me know how I can make it look the same.

Thanks,

With images not being crisp or sharp it normally means they are being resized or the image quality being reduced

With the original images before resize what is the file size of the images?

Hi Paul,

I usually ensure the images are larger and allow them to resize down so it doesn't lose quality. The quality is lost when you have a smaller image that resizes upward. Anyways, it's fine now, but I would like to get the arrows/nav working like it works in the demo. Any idea how to do that? I posted images in an earlier post. Let me know.

Thanks!

Hi Nader,

Yes you are right in regard to making images bigger - that never really works well

However, if images are resized to a size that doesn't divide evenly that can blur the image

Also although not relevant in this case if a resize value is bigger than the available space it will distort as well as the image is forced smaller

I'll move on to your arrows in the next post

Hi Paul,

Yes, I can enable them, but they come out really tiny and odd looking. It looks like this

when it should come out like this?

Hi Nader,

The arrows are a conflict unfortunately with the near version of zentools and the template

so it does require me to suggest some css for you to try
