Multilingual site

Hello,

I have installed the quickstart package of the New Lifestyle template. I try to establish the multilingual feature but weird things happen.

Before all the actions I have made in order to establish a second language, my main page was /localhost/joomla34 and the home page was assigned to all languages(the texts were greek).

When I enabled a second language(english), the home page remains the same, but when I choose english from language switcher, the slideshow and other modules disappear from all the pages and the url changes to localhost/joomla34/index.php/en
Then, when I want to turn back to greek from the language switcher, I dont return to the first url but to this one: localhost/joomla34/index.php/el and, this time, although the module of the slideshow appears, the pictures are blank, not loading.

I don't know what to do. Could you please help me?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Joan,

Its always hard to troubleshoot multi-lingual setup

Have you followed all the steps in setting it up?

I did a quick google

Hi Joan

It sounds like you may need to look at the mega menu set up in the template framework.

This template [New Lifestyle] is built on the T3 framework, so the multi language setup has some additional setup required to a standard Joomla installation. You need to configure it in the template admin and mega menu section. The url's you are stating I think are because this is not configured correctly.

Here is a link to documentation for this:
www.t3-framework.org/documentation/bs3-customization#multiple-language

The other thing to check when setting up multi language sites is any third party SEF component installed, such sh404, are set correctly and giving you the results you expect. Our usual work flow is to leave SEF off until we have nailed down the website detail and language switching, then apply it before going live.
