logo issues, z-index

Hi guys, I was wondering if you could help me figure out how to improve the logo on this site using New Lifestyle.

The logo is a little taller than normal and is getting cut off on the initial load, then is ok when scrolling but the nav bar then gets really tall.

Wondering if it would be possible to have the logo hang over the slideshow and have the nav bar not get so tall, so that the logo overflows the nav bar.

Had a couple of go's at this and it doesn't look that good even when I hack the code

The grey lower logo text looks poor and hard to read - I'm not sure this will work for you
