additional column in "New Lifestyle"

zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

I need an additional column in "New Lifestyle". Looking at the "Layout" in the back end I need the new column stretching like sidebar-1 on the right hand side but starting underneath "banner" and ending before "footer". How would I accomplish that?

cheers

Can you attach a pic with an arrow pointing to what you are referring to?

Thanks

I am not really talented but here it is. The column is not supposed to be a skyscraper advert column, it must be part of the bootstrap grid.

cheers

... in Firefox the "insert" button for the attachment is simply not there, no wonder the attachement does not go into the post

This would be a big change to the template as it would affect lots of different layout files

I will need to ask the developers on the feasibility and possibilities with this

Hi there,

Can you explain a bit more about the behaviour?
It may be a quick job and included in your membership but I just wanted to clarify the exact behaviour before I say more.

- Whats the behaviour on small screens?
- How do you want to control the width of the sidebar.
- Does it need to be equal height or auto height?
Thanks

... I dont know much about the bootstrap grid, but as a wild guess the easiest way is probably just to put everything from underneath "banner" to above "footer" and my sidebar-main in an additional grid row? That would compress the current 12 col grid elements into narrower space but I think thats ok(?)
I guess it would be more effort to include that additional sidebar into the 12 col grid and make the other elements respectively stretch only over 10 columns? Either way I would be happy to get it in at all.

"small screens":
- it should behave like sidebar-1: sidebar-1 jumps above the container "below", so my sidebar-main should jump above "footer"

"control the width":
- the default in the 12 col grid should be 10 cols + 2 cols for my sidebar-main
- control the width ideally with that slider as seen on the spotlight, so the new "main container" and my sidebar-main would automatically shrink and expand when the slider is moved
- when that is not possible I could also alter the css classes in the layout files if necessary

"equal height or auto height":
- it should behave like all other elements in the layout, meaning height according to its content (published modules)

That would be great, thanks.
