my main question relates to how to control the height of the slideshow. the beta i'm working on is coming along well - though i have worries about sites that have to cover 24in monitors...7inch tablets held vertically...and smartphones. tall order. (pun intended.)

It should be ok for those situations but if you hit problems let us know

Hi David,

The slideshow height and width are controlled in the theme magic settings.

So you set the max-height and max-width there. To override that you need to create a media query for the screen size that overrides the max-height on the slideshow.

how about min-height? because max-height doesn't appear to have an effect.
