Please see the attached; the border in the grid runs through the caption overlay block....what would you suggest? more force? bigger hammer?

No link - it's in MAMP.I was able to turn off the blue overlay altogether (background:none) and set the type to black. That was after I couldn't get the transparency past the default 0.8, target it for z-index, or a bazillion other tricks. So instead of resorting to force, I reached for a bigger hammer.
