Prepare Content messed up some of my site.

zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

Folks, I enabled the option for one of my modules to "Prepare Content" and ever since then my slide positions aren't acting right. I tried making a new module in the same slide position - slide3, but it still doesn't work right. All of the slides are affected in some way and I think a couple of other module positions. I even disabled that option, deleted, the custom module - no luck.

How could one setting for one module mess up so many other things?

Why did you need to turn on prepare content?

Do you have any caching enabled?

Cheers

I was having some strange formatting issues with that one particular module on a smartphone. There were no other options or settings to adjust that so I tried the "prepare content" option. After that, not just the module, but all of the slide positions started acting
weird or not working at all.

For instance when I created a new module with the same content in slide 3, then went to my site - slide 1 worked, slide 2 worked, slide 3 showed the contents of slide 4 and slide 4 showed the contents of slide 4, but going back through the slides didn't work at all; without refreshing the page.

Any fix for this?

Do you have a link for the site?

The prepared content option is now disabled?

Are you running any caching?

nccfc.net

prepare content is now disabled

I don't think I am running caching. Not certain. It's not something I enabled at least.

Hi there,

I'm having trouble loading your site. Seems to be taking a lot of time to load.

Are you having trouble as well?
Thanks

Actually its just loaded.
I can only see the markup for 3 modules but 4 tabs. What content should appear in the 4 slider?

Took about 6 seconds. I've noticed that I and others have different experiences with it - some fast, some slow, sometimes a gateway timeout.

Correct. There should be four modules. The "connect" button for slide position 3 should show several social networking icons. They're in there in the backend. But for the front end it shows slide 4 instead. If you click the different slides they're not functioning correctly.

Everything was working just fine until I enabled (now disabled) the "prepare content" option.

Right I think this is related to an old issue with the slider. It used to happen when trying to load emails in the slider when the email cloaking javascript was enabled.
Is the module loading javascript? Im afraid this may be a limitation of the slider in this regards.
Thanks

There's no option for loading, enabling, or disabling javascript in the module if that's what you mean.

I mean that if javascript is loaded in the slider then it can cause issues.

The same may be true for prepare content. What plugins do you have loading that might be causing the issue?

Paul just reminded me about this plugin if you are loading email addresses in there:

No plugins loading for any of the modules in the slider positions. For slide3 it's just 4 icons that link to other pages.
