Update Template fails

zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

I am trying to update the Nebula template to the latest version and I keep getting an error saying -1 copy file failed.

Can't find a fix to this anywhere

Reason for update was that when I went in to Theme Magic to change something, the them I had disappeared, and when I try to change it back, it doesn't work anymore - just keeps saving to the default them. So I tried to up date the template and the T3 framework to latest versions. T3 framework is up to date but can't update nebula template

help :)

This sounds like a permissions issues to me

For permission issues check...

i) Site > system information > directory permissions - are all GREEN (except config.php which should be red)
ii) Check folders are 755, files 644 and that owner/group are correct using an FTP client
iii) Specifically check cache folder and css-compiled folder
iv) Check that you are NOT using an apache handler for your hosting and that instead you are using FastCGI/cgi. If you are you need to correct this in cPanel or Plesk or ask your host to change this. Then you'll have to start again afresh.
v) Use the Joomla Forum Post Assistant to do detailed checks http://forum.joomla.org/viewtopic.php?f=621&t=582860

i) All good here
ii) Permissions everywhere seem to be correct

* Not sure what you mean "that owner/group are correct using an FTP client"

(iii) found cache folders and they are ok
can't find css compiled folder

(iv) In Cpanel it says there are no user-configured Apache Handlers. It does show 2 system handlers:
cgi-script - .cgi .pl .plx .ppl .perl
server-parsed - .shtml

no idea about Fast CGI and where to find that out unless I need to ask host for that info

(v) will try this out but might be too technical for me.

Do you have problems installing other extensions?

No - had no problem updating existing extensions - and also added some more ok.

Just a problem with the template itself.

Do you have an information which file it failed to copy?

Can you open a support ticket and provide URL and super admin details so we can take a look?

I have tried installing other templates from Bamboo and there are no issues. Just nebula.

I have updated the T3 framework and wondering whether this is a problem.

When I go to Thememagic - I am now getting this error.

Script: www.website.com/plugins/system/t3/base/js/less.js:459

Whatever that means.

cpanel access instead - is that an alternative?

As we may need to upload files or change permissions
