Progamming slideshow

zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

Hello,
Could you please tell me how to program the slideshow? I wasn't able to use the quickstart so all I have is a static banner. You can see it here: rimomdev.com

When I try to replicate "with slideshow" I am not able to select "Advanced Options" I get the four arrows pointing outward that look like a diamond and cannot select.

Also, could you guide me on what to do with the menu. Two of the menu items look differently than the others. They are all on the default template.

Thank you!

Hi

For the menu if you switch to a separator menu type for the parent of the drop down does that resolve the menu glitch?

Regarding this bit

"When I try to replicate "with slideshow" I am not able to select "Advanced Options" I get the four arrows pointing outward that look like a diamond and cannot select."

I'm not quite following - is this in the admin side?

There's a menu item called "With slideshow"

I am trying to create a slideshow like that. What steps so I need to take?

Can I just check which slideshow you are referring to - there are two on the demo site and both work differently

bambootheme.com/showcase/jul13/template-layouts/zenkit/slideshow - this is the zenkit extension using k2 content

bambootheme.com/showcase/jul13/extensions/zentools-slideshow - this uses the zentools extension using either joomla content

HI Paul,
I'm trying to create the one like the demo bambootheme.com/showcase/jul13/

Where the text and image seem to appear from different places. It doesn't appear to be like the others shown. Can you tell me which module is being used on the demo and how to configure it?

Hi there,

The slideshow animates the title, text and image and more but at the moment you are just using the text.

So if you enable the title, image, text and more it should just do it for you right out of the box.

Thanks.

Hi Anthony,
I used: Frontpage Slideshow
I listed the display items as you had them. For some reason they don't look the same.

Mine moved like a simple slide show while yours comes from different directions and appears to have a bit of a bounce. My content / images are final. I'm just using placeholders while I work out function.

I've attached some config

Could you tell me why my slideshow opens below the content on the home and not to an article page like the demo?

Can you add a screenshot of your slideshow settings tab?

I've also added an example of a demo article - to show where the source of the image is coming from

Regarding the site not opening the right page -

Joomla needs a menu link for the article or cateogry - this behaviour commonly means there isn't one

You can find more information here on the problem and how to resolve it
