Hi,

i want to setup the moments template and also have a page where I can use filtering. I thought that I could use zen tools only. dont want to install k2 if possible.
in the demo/quickstart package I see it is done with tags in k2. besides that in the demo it is moaning that k2 component is not installed under the menu items. is it needed?
so can I have all the features of this template without K2?
If yes, how to setup a filtering page with articles and zen tools filtering?

Hi Martin,

The demo uses k2 and zenkit together to display the filtered layout.
You could use zentools but it wouldn't look the same

I should point out zentools is filtered by categories rather than tags as well

and thanks for the quick repla. any reason why in the demo the component is not installed? it's not necessary? zenkit plugin is disabled too!

Not sure sometimes the install can go pear shaped

sorry, what do you mean by "look in the discover"? i see the plugin but is disabled. filtering works though. the best is to just know what should be there before thinking more about the demo. so k2 component and zenkit enalbed is the correct setting, right? thanks

If you go to extensions > Extension Manager and then discover

It can show components that haven't fully installed
It sounds like there may be an issue with k2 installation

yes. there are some k2 entries after discovery. activating them did not help. but I will reinstall it. it is just the demo quickstart on my dev env. thanks

i did. it is still complaining that com_k2 is not existing. also it is complaining about the user with the id=88 not existing and it also has checked out elements right after fresh installation. in my opinion the quickstart package is buggy.
I'm not going to spend more time on this one and do a manual install of all needed stuff. much simpler. the demo is for me just to undertand the way you have setup tand concepted the pages.

btw: if k2 is used in this template....why do you have mixed the article creation? some are k2 others are joomla articles?

User id wise

"the user warning this occurs because of a change to the way that Joomla handles the super user id. So with the sample data it's not possible to assign the content to the super user id because it's created dynamically during the installation process.

We mix the use of k2 and joomla so it covers both bases for users

Some template also include jomsocial and easyblog
