Joomla 3.0 Moments Template

zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

To whom it may concern,

I apologize for bothering you all with this post, but I don't know jack crap about programming. I did, however, download and uploaded the moments template upon my website, but I can't get it to look the same as the live preview.

I've checked the documentation on the site. I did originally try the Moments quickstart. I was able to upload the files to my cpanel, but I wasn't able to install Joomla 3 based on the direction provided by your site.

I thus installed Joomla 3 from my Cpanel, and then uploaded the moments template. This was fine, but again it doesn't look like the live preview, which is my desired look.

Again, I apologize again for my lack of knowledge, but can anyone help me achieve this desired outcome?

Hi

No problem - did you check out the J3 Quickstart installation guide found here?

docs.joomlabamboo.com/getting-started/how-to-install-a-joomla-3-quickstart-package

Do you have a link so we can see how it looks?

Cheers

Right could you be a more precise on the installation bit of Joomla?

With installing Joomla and then Moments you won't have the demo content as per the demo site

To get the site looking like the demo you need to install the Joomla Bamboo demo content (by selecting to install the demo content)

Hi,

When I arrived at the last step under the cpanel option for the quickstart installation. I couldn't install Joomla it just had me at some directory tree.

As far as the moments template, I'm sorry to be such a noob, but where do I find the Bamboo demo content?

I'm relatively new to this, and this brand, sorry.

No problem at all

The demo content is in the quickstart file itself - its loaded in to the install once a user selects to install sample data during the install process

With the directory tree bit - does it drop out of Joomla? - so you are seeing a much different screen as shown in the doc?

thanks

Correct,

I was able to upload the quick start file. I followed all the steps without any troubles. I extracted the file as per the last step under the cpanel option.

After that, when I typed in my website. It at a list of files as its home page.

I'm sure that It's something that I'm doing wrong. I just don't know what.

Hi,

I'm still having trouble with getting moments to load, and getting the demo content to the load?

As per our previous chats within this thread, I was able to get the quickstart to install.

I'm not feeling really great about myself, and I'm thinking maybe WIX is the best way for me to go?

Any help would be appreciated.

What do you have at the moment? - have a link for the site?
Is the template on the site?

Regarding WIX - is the issue that you can't get started or something else?

Siteground do have some decent free tutorials - www.siteground.com/tutorials/joomla-video/build-joomla3-site/

Hi there,

Here is the link to the website: theunconventionaldad.com/

The problem that I'm having is that I'm unable to get the Demo version to work on the site. That particular layout is the way that I made the purchase.

Currently, I'm not able to publish any content compared to the WIX route is appearing to be a faster route for me to publish content.

Looking at the site it appears either the wrong demo content has been installed or its an existing installation

With the quickstart did you install to an empty folder?
Are you on a linux server?

Are you able to try re-installing the quickstart?
It does look like you missed a step in the install

alternatively we do offer a quickstart installation service you can purchase from your profile (where we install the Quickstart file for you)

With WIX - I've not used it myself so its a bit tricky to comment, however with it being a fixed system I would expect there to be much less flexibility with what you can do with it

e.g. Joomla has thousands of extensions to extend a site's capabilities

I think that I might take you up on that service.

I really don't want to change hosting.
I really like your product.
I just want it to work; so that I can post content.

I'll investigate this service.

Thank you.
