A Wild "0" Appears under Search… [SOLVED]

zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

Howdy folks!

A "0" just started appearing under my search bar. (Please see attached screenshot; or, web link.) Any idea why this is happening?

Bill,

Hard to say where this is coming from. Start with your Search module code (/tmpl/default.php) and see if it got there by mistake.

I'd also check the module settings to see if that character has been added in there

Thanks, man—I didn't know where the PHP was. Now that I see it, I can see where there might be a problem.

But…any change that I make doesn't take effect. I had caching on when I first tried this (duh), but even after deleting the cache and disabling, any change I make to the PHP doesn't have an effect. I've never encountered this before. Any ideas?

Thanks and cheers,

Bill

PS: I should be here, correct? [ modules/mod_search/tmpl/default.php ]

I must have checked that a dozen times, and now I will go back and check it again. It still seems like the most obvious place.

I did, at one point, do something you told me not to—I complied to LESS. I still have no idea what that does. I did it because I made some changes in THEME MAGIC, and thought I needed to do this. Oops?

Cheers and thanks,

Bill,

Also check in your template/html folder. This is where overrides will show that are specific to your theme. More often you'll see a folder specific to the extension and inside that folder will be PHP file(s) (generally default.php). Check through this folder and see if mod_search is listed.

Thanks for your help; yes, there was a bug in the override code. I've written a post about this for anyone else having the problem in the general template section, as this would apply regardless of template employed.

Bill,

Thanks for the follow-up and detailed road-map in your other post. I'm going to leave that on alone and let either Anthony or Paul respond to it. You did a fair amount of homework on this and some Karma has been sent your way!

Ed

p.s. is that a Fender in your avatar? If so, Ed is most jealous B)

Thanks, man! The guitar? I don't know. My main job is managing a band with guitarist Steve Morse. He's the guitar guy. I'm just pretending, lol.
