I have a main menu with the same submenu's as a position slide 2 menu with same options.Both menus are category blog style.

On main menu clicking on an submenu displays me the category page
On slide2 menu clicking on a submenu noting happens, Have to click twice.

First issue why do i have to click twice? And why is the page reloading after clicking twice?

Second issue is that i want to redirect to same catecory page which isn't now because the alias isn't the same ( and cannot be made the same)

Third issue The slide2 menu acts as a accordion slider( after clicking twice)
My expectations are that when i click on the right hand arrow it should act as accordion and when click on the name it should redirect to category page.

if you clikc on frontpage in the category "Land en Berg" (displayed in the article image) you will redirected to category page "84.107.134.49:8080/land-en-berg"

when on that second page there is a slide2 menu with same menuoptions.
Clicking again on land en berg(twice) its navigates to antoher page "84.107.134.49:8080/land-en-bergen" which should be not.

Any idea how to solve?

So I'm starting with point 2.

If you create a new link there is a link type tab called system links
In here there is a menu item alias
Yes can select an already existing link and use that alias

I've not tried this is an accordion menu but it should work - if you try it an already existing link remember to clear the existing alias

Hi Hugo,

For a menu to work as an accordion the menu item that opens the sub-items needs to be a menu item of the type 'text-separator'.
If you change the 'bergen' menu item to this type it will work correctly.

thanks but that's not what i want!

From a user perpective
clicking on the "Bergen" menu should link to the category page
doesn't have to be an accordion menu, could also be a list menu
but all menu items should work

maybe i'm thinking in the wrong direction but that's what i expect when see a text seperator

The menu style on slide2 is what i want but....
1) it should not be needed to click twice on the link
2) it should linked to same page as from main menu

could we get that working?

For point 1

Can you try - open up options > advanced option and removing the accordion class and replacing it with nav-list

In the basic options set show sub items to no

For point 2

Try using what I mentioned above and in the menu item select box chose the link you want to duplicate using the alias of that link

I never added a accordion class to the menu.
It just acts as an accordion

So i cannot replace a class with another class
Goto administrator

goto menu "BESTEMINGEN"
use menu "Dorp en Land"

That where the issue exist
Also on menu "Land en Drop" and "Bergen"


The same are in Main menu

sorry I assumed this was a quickstart which would mean the suffix would be accordion

just add the navlist to the

module manager > menu module > Options > Advanced Options > Menu Class Suffix

and then change the change the Show Sub-menu Items to no in the basic tab

1) is working now, super!

2) maybe i'm a bit stupid but i don't know where and how to remove an alias,

i see that a menu item alias in itself is working!
But when i change the "Dorp en Land"menu to a menu item alias I get a 404 error directing me to an unknown page

So do i have to remove the previous alias and how to?
