Grid3 link behavior from grid zen tools

zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

I cannot figure out why the link behavior from my front page grid1 zentools www.apel.dk wont show the linked page. If I set the link behaviour to "lightbox" the right article shows. But when I set it to "content item" i get an empty page.

Can someone help?

Hi Kasper,
This is a menu item id issue. The clue is that the url has the word component in it which means that there is no menu item pointing to the category in question and so it's showing the front page configuration.

Since the template is hiding the content on the front page it looks like ther eis nothing to display.

This is a more thorough explanation and fix:

Hi I got a new Grid3 menu problem.
At www.apel.dk under main menu "Apeltræf" the pages will not show, and it seems I can't fix it with the menu ID item solution.
What am I doing wrong here?

Thanks
Kasper

Hi Kasper,

If you check the layout tab of the template style that applies to this page

Does the layout file being displayed contain the content area?

Hi Kasper,

Try changing the layout file "apel-home" to a different file using the arrow in the "positive & responsive configuration"

Chose a layout that contains the component/article area e.g. not a home layout

That fixed it.
But I have no clue why the "apel-home" did not work. Cannnot even remember how I made it.

Thanks for helping me.

You're welcome :)

It does sound like the layout used is for a module based layout only e.g. no content area

Hi again. Now using a "default" layout, something change on the front page. For instance a visible square below of grid 1.

I can see in the layout tab, that there are some "above" and "below" that are: auto

Also the distance between grid1 and the logo are bigger now.

What to do?

Thanks Kasper

Hi Kasper,

How this templates works is that you need two template styles

- one applying/assigned only to the home page
and
the other template style set as default in the template manager so it applies to all pages apart from the home

Hi Paul
Thanks for the answer.
Where do apply/assign template style to the home page?

It still doesn't help me in the qustion about why the distance between grid1 and the logo are bigger in the default layout than in the apel-home layout.

Thanks for taking time to answer all these questions, I'm a novice still.

Thanks Kasper

Hi Kasper,

You need to have the template style open you want to assign to the home page

In the template settings there is the assignment tab you need to click the home link and save

With the the other template style

Set as the default template style by clicking the star in the template manager
