Getting Category List when using Zen Grid Grid feature

zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

Try as I might, I cannot get rid of the category listings that appear when I install zen grid grid display...I have gone back through all my settings but still end up with the category listings.

Any ideas?

Also, My photos do not display on the category pages with the articles, they appear everywhere else but not in the K2 category display of articles.

Hi Phillip,

Ill be able to see what the other issue is as well then.

Ah ok thanks.

They are the category filter option in the zentools module.

If you disable that it will remove the category names.

Thanks again Anthony,

So to have Zentools display what items from a particular category I have to enable categories and if I enable categories the list of categories wil always be displayed? If so, that would be unfortunate - kind of ruins the whole look. When looking at the demo I never saw the categories listed.

So no way around that if I want to select content from specific categories?

No its just the category filter that is being output.

When thats enabled it creates a filterable display of the items on the page.

If its disabled it doesn't interfere with the type of content that is displayed on the page.

Hope that clears it up.

Anthony,

Excellent, thanks for clearing that up for me.

By the way, can you then tell me why the images will show up in my zentools modules when selected by category but not on the actual K2 page? The images reappear again on the article pages but not on the category pages.

Do you have images / introtext enabled on the K2 category options?

Actually, if this happens only on a certain page it could be the menu item settings.

Well, they are all category pages, and as far as I can tell, none of category menus have settings that would cause an image to be shown. I have set up one master category and have all other categories defaulting to that one.

Hi there,

Do you have your images set in the K2 image tab, or only within the content itself?

Only within the content.

Can you tell me where I can make the change to my CSS, I don't know how to get past the template dashboard to the file folders.

Regarding the images not showing up on the category pages - I just installed a widget and it also fails to appear on the category page but is fine on the item

K2 category view use the K2 item image only. Zen tools can use that or the image from the item content, so if you want K2 category layouts with images you may want to switch the way your images are inserted.
