Cannot redeclare class ZenGrid

zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

Hi

Decided to give JBFocus a try - instead of JBResponsive
Installed latest JB_Focus_J1.7_v1.2.5.zip and JB_ZenGridFramework_J1.7_v1.2.0.zip

Now in the backend I get

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class ZenGrid in /home/ohorgani/public_html/templates/zengridframework/admin/classes/zengrid.php on line 12

if I try to select either Focus or ZenGridFramework from Template Manager

Amazingly JBResponsive is OK

Hey Richard,

Is this on a local server, or a live one?

Hi Richard.

Looks le you may need to unpublish the zen grid framework plugin.

Let us know if that solves it.

Spot on!

So JBFocus does NOT need the plugin but JBResponsive definititely DOES

Just a thought and no urgency . . .
We were talking about using Joomla1.7's ability to use more than one template on a site.
e.g. Focus for the frontpage & Responsive for other pages.
Could this be done with the plugin being enabled/disabled on a page by page way?

Is the ZenGrid Plugin the way forward for future JBamboo 1.7 template design?

Many Thanks again

Hi Richard,

Yes, the plugin is the way forward. New templates will all be using that, rather than the Zen Grid Framework.

As a result, Zen Grid Framework and Zen Grid Plugin are not (currently) going to be able to co-exist.

Hi Richard,

I just released an update for the older versions of the framework that will fix this issue.

so 1.2.1 of the framework will fix this.

For anyone else reading:

1.1.20 for the J1.5 1.1 series
and 1.1.2 for the J1.7 1.1 series will fix this as well.

As soon as we have all of the old templates on the same version of the framework we can hopefully drop this crazy numbering :P
