ZGF 2.0 status update?

zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

Do you have an update on the status of the next ZGF version for 1.6/1.7?

Hey there,

We could have it by the next template release. Are there any features in particular that you are after?

Cheers,
Jason.

Mostly just full support for Joomla 1.7 and new fonts Google has added to its API.

Hi there,

The framework is 1.7 compliant now.

We hadn't planned updating the fonts until we grab them dynamically with v2 of the framework but if it's urgent for you I can add some manually again if you like.

Thanks Anthony

Well the biggest thing is that if I use the current version of the framework for new projects, how easy will it be to upgrade to the new version of the framework later on? Will I lose all of my styling? Will I have to go in and reset all of the parameters of the framework?

Ah ok thats a good question.

There will be a little manual manipulation of some files but you won't lose styling. J1.5 users will be able to replace the params.ini and restore their defaults but alas J1.7 stores the defaults in the database so it will require some re setup. I'll create a document that should make it an easy transition.

None of your css customisations should be lost however.

Hope that helps.

Ok... that provides a bit more clarity. At least we have Akeeba Backup just in case. =)

Also, will there be a 1.7 release of the ZenBlank template?

I don't know for sure but I would amazed if we don't get a new version :)

The 1.6 version should work with current 1.7 / framework

Hope thats clear :)

I am trying to download the 1.7 version of ZenBlank, but it is giving me this notice:

The document must be approved before downloading.

I downloaded it, and now it is having issues with the MissionControl admin template again. All of the tabs load on a single long page. I tried the fix you provided previously for zentabs.js, but it didn't solve it.

UPDATE: I commented out lines 17-24 of zentabs.js and that fixed it.

Also, the $logoLocation variable is not working. My logo is pointing to /logo.png instead of /templates/jbzenblank/images/logo/logo.png

EDIT:
Oh... I see... that's old/unused code now. Now it forces people to select an image from the mydomain.com/images/ folder and stores the information in the database. That's alot different from the 1.5 version which stored it in params.ini... Anyway, I made some modifications to point to the old location for now.

Thanks for looking at that.

We have an update coming regarding mission control.

In fact I think it may be in the svn now - will look in a little bit.

re the logo use - yep thats right. Personally I preferred having the params.ini there.

Still working out the best way to have a default logo there but pretty sure I nailed it with the last template release.

Thanks Anthony
