This should be a simple task, but I am going nowhere fast. Attempting to install ZenGrid Framework so that I can install PowerPlay template.

File: JB_zengridframework_J1.5_v1.1.12.zip
Joomla install: J1.5.22
PHP 5.2
MySQL 5

in htaccess file, I set the file upload limit to 20M, memory to 64M.

I am using the Joomla installer to install the framework. The message I get "Unable to find install package."

I can FTP the files, but is this the correct procedure?

Thats very frustrating but the package works fine for me here.

Are you able to install other extensions?

Perhaps try downloading the files again to see if that fixes it.

I have 40+ joomla sites, first time I have encountered this. Clues?

It sounds like the temp directory is not writable.

You can FTP the file up to that folder and then put the folder path into the Joomla installer and try installing that way. Ultimately, it is probably best to try and get the file/folder permissions sorted, or it will give you more headaches down the line.
