Site "jumps"

zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

I built a site using the Zen Grid Framework and the Default Template.

However, if you click an item in the top menu - for example the second menu item - the site "jumps" about half a centimetre to the right and back again if you click on another menu item. Still this does not happen with all menu items.

I thought this was happening because I use ul-lists in content but it seems it is also happening with items that have no ul-lists like the last one of the top menu.

Hm. I guess I am stuck. Any idea why this is happening? Here's the site: www.jana-volkmann.de

Thanks,
Sascha

Hi Anthony,

thanks for looking into it.

I see this here under Ubuntu in Firefox, Opera and Chrome - not with all menu items but for example when I click the second or the last one on the frontpage.

Still cant see it.

What resolution is the browser set to and how quickly does it take to jump?

I'm viewing in 1920x1200

I'm seeing different effects in browser -
Firefox = font change and change back but less pages affected than Opera,
Opera = Font change jump and back,
Chrome quick jump fraction of second
IE and Safari = nothing

Hope this helps
Cheers

I still only see the change in the font as the google font loads. Is that what you see Sascha?

I see the font change only in Opera and Chrome, in Firefox it is fine.

In all three browsers the site jumps about half a centimetre to the right and stays there when I click the second or last menu item ("Leistungen" and "Konditionen"). When I click the other menu items the site stays in the same position like the front page or goes back there when I was on one of the items where the page jumps before.

Very strange - can you post a screenshot perhaps so we can see the bug in action?

Yes, here are two screenshots of the frontpage and the second menu item. I'm not sure if you can see on the screenshots that the whole site has moved 1/2 cm to the right.

Ah ok I see that now.

On the first page you have a scroll bar but on the second you dont. Does that account for the change?

Oh yes, of course - sorry, I didn't think of that! :)

Well, I will ask the site owner to write a little more text for those items so there is always a scrollbar.

Thanks for your help,

No probs.

Thats actually come up before. Easy to not see it when you have been looking at the page for such a long time :)
