Getting site to show

zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

Hi Guys

I have built a website for my client here 3 click sold

I use joomla pack to take a copy, zip it up download then i use kickstart to set up on new domain name.

I am still waiting for the domain to propagate over to my control.

i have added a domain reference and have installed the site back up etc and have gone through install.

on looking at the site front page here Cheltenham racing we get an error message

The template you are attempting to use requires the Zen Grid2 Framework.
Please refer to the Zen Grid2 framework documentation for more information.

I have tried tried another companies template and i can get the site to show so its not missing anything.

I have tried reloading the zen grid, (BUT i have not treied loading zen template as i have made a few tweaks and i dont want to loose them)

I have removed site cache, purged and removed browser cache. Still not working.

Any ideas???

My money is on it being PHP4.

You need PHP5 minimum. You can check what is running in Joomla:

If the webhost supports it, you may be able to force it to run under PHP5 with just one line in your .htaccess file. See here for details;

kb.siteground.com/article/How_to_have_different_Php__MySQL_versions.html

If that doesn't work you will need to call your host....

Hi Seth

Just received this from them! Doesnt really help ...well to me someone who does not do code!!

Any ideas?

Hi Peter,

Thanks for contacting us.

The default PHP version on our webservers has been switched from version 4 to version 5. This is how the PHP setup on our servers now functions:

PHP5 will now read php.ini files as well as php5.ini files by default. When php4 is set to the default version, php4 will read both php4.ini and php.ini files. When both a php5.ini and a php.ini file exist in the same directory and duplicate directives exist, the php5.ini takes precedence..

There should be no need to rename any php.ini files, unless your site is making use of both php4 and php5 and there is also a version conflict. If there is a problem, you can restore previous functionality by switching to php4, and changing the name of all your php.ini files to php4.ini.

If you wish to make use of php version 4, you can insert a .htaccess file into your webspace, containing the following line "SetEnv DEFAULT_PHP_VERSION 4".

Eventually we'll re-implement the PHP version switcher tool, to switch to PHP4.

Did you get this system report from the same Joomla installation that is having issues, or from another on the same site (different folder/subdomain)?

just received this from hosting, could this be the problem? as site works in another template just not bamboo

Some CMS scripts will have problems running on the temporary URL, although I can't confirm whether or not this is causing the problem.

It could be an issue I supose, not one I have seen myself before.

If the temp domain is in fact a folder under the main domain, this could actually be part of the issue. Have you set re-write base variable in .htaccess?

no i have not touched that...perhaps i need to wait for domain to propagate over completly so we can rule that out!

though i norm have the site sat there ready so domain does not go down for any time! though i have never moved a site to another domain name whilst using a joomla bamboo template before!

Hi Seth,

I have the same problem.

My PHP version is up to date (5.5.2) and everything else seems to be operating fine but I get the exact same Zen Grid2 Framework error.

My Joomla! install is in the root directory so that shouldn't be a problem either.

Any ideas to help me narrow the search down?
