This is more a Joomla question than a framework question. I'm building a site in which content production will be turned over to the client, hence I'm looking for a way to make a certain set of items in a [hidden] menu show the category (article_info) - merely by placing the link in the correct parent menu - in other words, to get all menu items in my_hidden_menu to inherit the same properties (and how do i turn off the dang tooltip, and make the category unclickable!)

As an alternative - is there a way to extract the category in the article output?

This has to be bulletproof - **completely invisible** to non-technical types.

Using category links in a hidden menu and setting the category to use either all global settings or configuring the category with its own specific settings overriding everything in global?

With the category if you turn off "Link Category" does that work?

I was able to fudge something reliable using extra fields. (nice feature Joomla devs!)
