How are you setting https?

Via the global configuration?

Any caching on the site or server?

Let's Encrypt at the server, forced https in htaccess and in now in the configuration panel. I can probably add something in JQueryEasy, which ought to be built into Joomla - but just noting that there remains a lot of non-https in the source code, not just this.

All of the administrators, sometimes fonts, sometimes other resources. Your next framework release could simply change all the http's to https's.

There are plugins like JQueryEasy that helped me squelch the front end problem

What does not load via https other than fonts?

the template preview shouldn't affect the front end image

We are trying to get the JB site ssl but proving harder to do as requires various accounts to be upgraded
