Smart Search Results not displaying

zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

Hi,

I've enabled the Smart Search plug-in for my website but I get no search results (that I can see!). I suspect it's because of the variations in the zenbase template but am not sure. Can you help solve this?

Thanks!

Hi

Can you confirm you've gone through all the steps of setting it up?
e.g site indexed etc

Cheers

Sure, I enabled the Plugin, opened under the components menu and indexed the content, then I created a new module. The search box is where it should be, the search suggestions appear when you type in the box but nothing happen when you select. If you're not on the home page, the home page menu button highlights when you select.

Do you have the module pointing to a specific menu item for the menu itemid?

Now I do. It's a hidden menu item pointing to the 'default template". When I search it opens a new page with only the logo/footer on it and no menu or results.

With the template do you have any template styles showing the component area?

As this may be one issue for the search results page

Looking at the site I can see module positions being used instead of main content / component area but I've only skimmed looking at the site

The layout is set up in modules. Should I create a new page (based on the zenbase-home) which features a main content area?

Yes create a new template style with the content area / component area available and assign it to that menu link
