Zentools Image Grid opens articles on the same page

zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

Hi, I'm a bit puzzled, I have a zentools grid image gallery which pulls from a category containing articles. It's in the abovecontent position.

When I click one of the images it would previously open up the article in place of the grid gallery on the same page, but now it opens it up below the grid gallery.

Any suggestions on how to get this back to how it was previously? Not sure how I changed it.

Thanks for any suggestions!

It does sound like there isn't a menu link available for Joomla

Try checking this article out

Ok, so I created the new menu, I assigned the first menu item 'single article' menu type, attached one of the articles loading improperly, and attached the zen gallery component to it.. but nothing seems to have changed. Am I missing something?
Additionally the breadcrumb is now showing the new menu, although it isn't activated.. hmm.

Have you changed any layout or the template that is assigned?

Hi Paul, I have not changed the template or the layout..
I must have changed something, although I've tried to stick to the original gallery as much as possible, just modifying the content, as I'm learning. What information would help you figure this out?

To clarify is the problem that you have a module displaying that you don't want to see?

what is the link behaviour setting for the module?

Ok, I fixed the problem. It WAS the itemID's however I did not implement the fix correctly. I needed to NOT attach the gallery to the single article.

Thanks.

To clarify: the problem was the article displaying on the same page as the module. the link behaviour setting in the module was Content Item/Same window

Thanks again!

So what happens to the url when the image is clicked?

http://tarjoomla01/joomla/index.php/stephanie-fitch

This is what I get now - and the breadcrumb now loads as
HOME/STEPHANIE FITCH rather than
HOME/DEPARTMENT PROFILES/DEPARTMENT PROFILES*/stephanie-fitch

Before breadcrumbs were showing the menu item/category the article was pulling from: Department Profiles* (I added the asterisk because the menu item name was the same and breadcrumbs was pulling both)

I think the initial setup was correct

Loading the home page is a sign that the menu id problem is applying

The correct behaviour is to load the content item its connected to e.g. item as a url other than home page

The problem sounds more like module assignment or modules needing to be unassigned

I don't understand, what do you mean loading the home page (index.php?) is a problem? What should the url look like?

Hi

sorry there may be some confusion on my part -

With the zentools pulling content from an article and the link behaviour set to load content -

the module should load the article so its showing its own url and its own content rather than re-load the home page

Is the site doing this?

Ah, I see. The URL before was:
http://tarjoomla01/joomla/index.php/commercial-departments/dept-head-profiles/14-dept-head-profiles/76-stephanie-fitch

Now it is:
http://tarjoomla01/joomla/index.php/stephanie-fitch

ScreenShot2014-03-17at6.54.13PM.png

This is what the menu looks like so the correct breadcrumb should be:
http://tarjoomla01/joomla/index.php/commercial-departments/dept-head-profiles/stephanie-fitch

I'm guessing the category and item ID#s showing was proof the itemIDs were messed up. It was loading both article and gallery when the image was clicked. Not anymore so I call this a fix!

I'm not sure without seeing the site

but I'm really just trying to make you aware that not having a menu link for an item or category will mean the site doesn't function as its supposed to
