A number of sites I am associated are getting bombarded with Spam Contact issues.

Have been seeking to install captcha on sites as a way to alleviate this issue

Problem is that I cannot get any plugin to work on JB templated sites.
Downloaded many from the JE site having turned on an off all I can find but all to no avail.

Is there something I need to change in the template settings, that I'm missing, to resolve this?

when you say it doesn't work do you mean the appearance?
Do you have an example of it on a jb site?

Commonly this is a css fix to the table styling
