Never ending "Loading Tweets..."

zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

Is there something down or that needs to be changed with jTweet? Noticed that it is not loading Tweets on our site and it seems like your demo site is not working also.

Same here, I get the error message {"errors": [{"message": "The Twitter REST API v1 is no longer active. Please migrate to API v1.1. dev.twitter.com/docs/api/1.1/overview.", "code": 68}]}

If you want to see an example, check out your own Joomlabamboo demo, not loading either ...

Can you try and update to the current module version - download and re-install the extension

You DON'T need to uninstall existing version

Thanks

Same problem here:
http://xicraedicions.cat/

It must be a plugin error, because tweets are not loading even in the official plugin page:
http://www.joomlabamboo.com/joomla-extensions/jtweet-free-joomla-twitter-module

Thank you for looking at it! ;)

Yes problem is with the extension. like when tweeter changed from allowing http to https a while back, so I am sure they changed something else again. Hopefully we dont have to create apps just to read and display tweets

Hi Folks,

It us an issue with the module and the changes made by twitter to the api

It wil require a rebuild of the extension so at the moment we are looking at our options for the extension

It won't be a quick fix if we go ahead with the the update

Sorry I can't be of more help at this stage

Cheers

Hi, same problem here. High priority for us. Can you be more specific about a date when this can be fixed?

Thanks, Bastiaan

Hi Folks,

Ive had a look at this today and at this stage I wont be continuing development on this module.

jTweet was really meant to be just a simple lightweight jQuery plugin and the new api means that it will need to become something other than that.

Makes me sad that we need to retire this module - it was one that I cut my teeth on years ago.

I'll keep looking out for another good free option to recommend to folks and please let us know if you find one.

Thanks for your understanding.

Bummer! I really liked jTweet

I am using WDS Twitter Widget right now, which is free and working with the new Twitter changes.

You can find it here: extensions.joomla.org/extensions/social-web/social-display/twitter-display/24195

Thanks Anthony for your efforts!

Yes I agree I really liked the extension and its real shame - given the issue is with Twitter

Thanks for the recommendation +1

I just had two web sites break that had the common denominator of using Twitter modules and plugins from different sources. So, just learned the hard way about the change in the Twitter API from 1.0 to 1.1. What a pain.

I am sorry you are retiring your twitter module but certainly understand.

My web hosting company is seeing MANY tickets rolling in as web sites around the world are breaking now.

Just a heads up to everybody, although it looks like you figured it out already.

Yes it seems the vast majority of twitter extensions broke on the 11th of June when the twitter turned off the api v1

Extensions are already being de-listed from JED for this reason

Thanks for your quick response into the twitter issue Anthony and team. I also have installed and successfully using WDS Twitter Widget, free version. It is easy to install and set up. Hope that helps other twitter users. Thanks Anthony for such a great product and service, I understand the decision moving forward. :)
