Cuts off text | Only displays three tweets

zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

Irrespective of how many tweets I chose to display, it only shows three tweets.

It also cuts-off the tweets and/or the text over-runs the box. (NB: shadow; default; 10 tweets; 1st col=30, 2nd col=66.2, ).

Hey there Steiner,

Do you have a link so we can see what's happening there?

This is a problem with multiple twitter accounts.

I can see in your source code that the count is set to 10, and if I delete one of the usernames then 10 tweets are shown.

Can you confirm your joomla and jtweet versions so I can set up a test?

There are some odd sub rules that come into play sometimes with the script. Ill take a look when I look at your ticket.

Cheers

Re the tweets if I change it to:

dalinyebo, joomlabamboo I get the correct number of tweets loading.

I think that this is more to do with the twitter api actually.

Its likely to be something related to the recency of the tweets in the green park twitter account.

Thanks

Ive just released v2.0.1 which caters for if you are suppressing replies. e.g. it fetches more tweets then required if thats the case.

See if that fixes it.

Anthony,
Installed v2.01. The text over-run seems to be fixed, but it did not fix the problem with the display of the selected number of tweets for multiple steams.

I'm a simple user: Would like to have 10 tweets on the page. I add the twitter streams and expect ten tweets to show. There are only 4 tweets shown.

If I only add one stream at the time, I get the 10 tweets, for each of the streams:
- dalinyebo
- greenenergypark
- biomasschem
- dybbs

NB: If you add a comma at the end of the list, you get a list of random tweets showing!?

Do you perhaps not have the same problem (i.e. the selected number of tweets do not display) on your own website (goo.gl/QYlhi)?

Yep I get that, but my point is that if I use other usernames I can return the expected number of tweets.

Are you able to confirm that you get ten tweets if you use two names that have made recent tweets?

Im pretty sure that this is an issue related to the twitter api and that they limit the recency of tweets displayed when returning a twitter search - which is what happens in multiuser mode.

I may be wrong about this but thats what I can deduce from the behaviour.

I can confirm, this is a limitation in the twitter api.

The most reliable way around it is to create a list in your twitter account with the users whose tweets you want to display and then use the list option in the module rather than adding multiple users.

This can apparently happen occasionally with lists too.

I've just tested this with the user 'robertwent' and the list 'test' using your usernames and the correct number of tweets appear.

Rob,
OK, I did that: created a list and now the last 10 tweets form the accounts on my list are shown.
Thanks you.

Thanks Rob.

Crazy workaround but I guess Twitter must have its reasons for doing this.

This is related to the js issues I mentioned above but did not get to yesterday.

Basically there is somethign in your enviornment thats triggering some odd loading of scripts int he framework.

I havent isolated it yet but Ive fixed it for the time being.

Also there is a bug in the tweet module (and I have no idea why this didnt turn up in testing because it should break all instances) where the word break causes a js error in the script.

Ive uploaded a temp fix for you now but the break is not working.

Ill have a dedicated fix for this on Monday.

(NB: No more script errors in IE8! .. I presume that is as a result of what ever you did to the site: Thank you).
