It seems this module is supposed to be able to fetch just Featured Items, but I can't seem to find that parameter - am I mistaken?

Yes, sorry about that Troy.

There has recently been some major updates to that module, which have added a lot of new functionality. One of the things that got dropped though was the 'featured items' filter. The documentation should have been updated to reflect that change, so apologies for any confusion there.

I couldn't say, I only moderate here. I don't actually know why that feature was dropped....
