Captify content doen't work after update

zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

Hi,

I changed my setting to be from articles
www.emw8.com/
But it's still not working for me. OK I don't have the K2 error but where is my image, and the effect?
Could osmeone share the right settings for me.

I have a sneaky suspicion that it could be to do with file permissions. So if you could tell me the folder that the thumbnails might be writing to, and any other files involved involved in the process I can check.

Thanks, CB

media/plg_jblibrary/imagecache/484fec2d3fd7fb32f8804f6af4893f8b.jpg' for writing is in the image source, it looks like you need to set the permissions for the imagecache directory to 0777, and the images to 0644.

The imagecache is located at: /media/plg_jblibrary/imagecache/

Actually we dont advise setting permissions to 777 as this creates a vulnerability on the server. The issue is that the Joomla user doesnt have correct ownership on this folder. This is somethign best done by doing a chown on the folder which Im sure your host can help you with. You may like to set the folder to 777 temporarily so that the image renders and then set it back to 755 just so it starts displaying something.

Let us know how you get on.

Thanks Anthony

HI,

I set it to 777, it worked, then i put it back to 755, it still works. Not sure if I'll have to do that everytime but that's OK.

Where's the animation? Settings are the same as the last time i sent them. I have attached it again.

Yes it means that the images have been written to the folder but next time they need to be written - eg a new image gets put in there then you will need to go through the same process.

Could you try the title overlay option to see that that is working?

Thanks Anthony

Hi,

Yeh that works! www.emw8.com/index.php/en
But why is the title below the image as well?

You have the option in the first panel to display the title below the image set to yes :)

Ill look at why the image overlay isnt working but glad to see why the title is.

Hi,

Having a slightly different issue after upgrading cc to 1.4.4 from 1.3.4

Everything was working fine on old version until i tried to display joomla content setting artilces by id's.

It didn't change what was displayed at all.

So i looked for an update and installed 1.4.4.

Unfortunaly this didn't fix the problem.

It shows the correct amount of articles and from the correct category but it simply seems to ignore the articles i select.

Please help,

Matt

Hi Matt,

We need to clear up the documentation regarding those two options.

Basically you need to either set the category or select the content items. Selecting the content items and the categories will work fine so long as all of the content items are in the category and they are also able to be displayed eg you are showing items in most recent order and they are the most recent items.

Hope that clears it up.

Hi Anthony,

Ok so what i have done is to unselect the categories and just select the articles from the article list to display.

In module paramaters i have content source = articles.

Still doen't work.

I am using the same functionality as the latest version of slideshow3 and that works perfectly just displaying the articles i select from the list.

If i understand your last post are you saying it is not possible to display just articles selected from articles list like in slideshow but instead it will only show based apon the order you choose. E.g. if i want 3 articles from one category to show i should order those articles 0,1,2 then set display order as default ordering and item count 3.

If i misread your last post i apologise. Please clarify?

Thanks
Matt

Hi Matt,

It should be the same setting as the slideshow. Perhaps see if you can replicate the slideshow settings and pull the same content. may be a bug in the module but its working here.

Cheers Anthony

Hi Anthony,

Apologies for not getting back to this topic until now.

I have as you suggested replicated the options in my CC to replect my SS3 that is working correctly.

Unfortunatly it still produces the wrong content.

The articles that are being display are simply the first articles based on ordering from the categories i have chosen.

I have also updated to the latest version of CC.

Please help
