captifyContent - Can't seem to get it to display

zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

Hey Guys,

I'm feeling a little incompetent..duh (not unusual though).

I can't seem to get captifyContent working:

1.5.18
Grid2
I have uploaded 12 images to the stories directory
Created a new section (MCI Team Gallery) and assigned an image
Created a new category (The MCI Team Bios and Photo Gallery) and assigned an image
Created 12 articles and assigned them to the section (MCI Team Gallery) and category (The MCI Team Bios and Photo Gallery)
    Inserted 1 image per article
Created a new Category Blog Layout main menu item (MCI Team Gallery) and pointed it to The MCI Team Bios and Photo Gallery category

    Re captifyContent Module
Made a copy of the captifyContent module (Copy of Captify Content)
Gave this copy of captifyContent Module ID 3 (I'm gonna need several galleries later)
Set: Display Sections, categories or content? to Categories
Category Display Setting: Set Section ID to (15)
    Joomla Content Display Settings:
    Count: 12
    Article Source: Categories

    Saved settings

Visited link 'MCI Team Gallery' - Gallery not visible but Title is

What am I not doing properly? or seeing and reading in the documentation? I know it's at my end!

Thanks guys

Hard to say Percy - what is the item source?

Where the module is pulling the content from - Joomla or K2?

Prob best to submit a ticket as we could be back and forth for days like this :)

Yeah. Good idea. I'll do that.

Hi!

I'm having the same problem on my page, if I compare it to the quicklaunch template, everything seems to be identical.
I would humbly ask for your help.

My page:
bigr.pri.ee/student/

Thank you.

Hi,

When I try to view the file I get this error:

bigr.pri.ee//student/modules/mod_captifyContent/image.php?width=639&=200&cropratio=7:7&image=/student/images/stories/captify/littleguy2.png

Error imagecache is not writable.

For more info see this page here:

Thanks Anthony

You need to go to bigr.pri.ee//student/modules/mod_captifyContent/imagecache and set the permissions correctly.

Hello Anthony,

Thank you so much for replying!

Here's a screenshot from the Captify Content module folder, from the cpanel file viewer.

As you see, the rights should be OK.
This has been haunting me for a week now, getting a bit frustrated.

bigr

edit: well, when I put the imagecache folder rights to 777, it starts working. Any ideas?

Yes thats the owenership part. It means the joomla user doesnt have enough privileges on the site eg a discrepancy between the rights of the Joomla user and the server.

Best to talk to your server in regards to how best to chown the folders.

Thanks Anthony
