Grid Template - Captify Content

zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

Hi,

I need help publishing images in Captify Content module through the Content Option. I had no problem publishing images through the Section or Category Option.

The module is supposed to read the images in the content text areas, but it comes up blank or with links to the article titles.

I would appreciate any help!

Hey Yashar,

Do you have a link to your site?
Make sure that the images are in your article intro text and also ensure that the image src is not a url but a path to the image on your site.
eg:
if you have <img src="www.mysite.com/images/stories/myimage.jpg"/>
it will not work. As a security measure the image resizer will not process urls.
you need to have <img src="/images/stories/myimage.jpg"/>

Hope that helps.

Cheers,
Jason.

the link is www.carnegieroom.org

how do I set the path to the image? there is no entry for it in the module settings (although there is an entry in the directions sample).

Do I need to have jpg instead of png? Do I have to enter code somewhere?

Thanks for the clarification.

also, is it possible to have more than one captify content module assigned to different menus in the same website?

Hey Yashar,

There is no change to code involved and you do not change this in the module manager.
You need to use the article manager and edit your article in Joomla. Switch to the html view and alter the link to the image.
You can use jpg or png.
Hope that helped.

Cheers,
Jason.

I'm still having trouble with the captify image, although I'm made some progress - mostly by dumb luck.

The link to my site is www.carnegieroom.org

I've gotten two of the images to appear on the homepage grid as article items.

The images that have the code: <img src="images/stories/february%2020%202010_zara%20lawler_full%20image.png
seem to work.

The regular images that I insert from my database in joomla (i.e. <img="images/stories/claire huangci_full image.png" ) don't seem to register with captify. I'm not sure what I did to alter the code above to make it work, but it works. I guess it has something to do with the date.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Hey Yashar,

Make sure the imagecache folder is writable.

/modules/mod_captifyContent/imagecache/

You might need 777 permissions to get it to work. If that change works it is not advisable to leave the permissions as 777.
You will need to fix ownership issues on your files so that the imagecache folder can be written to with 755 permissions.

Cheers,
Jason.

This is all a bit over my head. Why did some of the images work and have a different code, and others not?
How do I check if /modules/mod_captifyContent/imagecache/ is writable?

No clue about how to write 777 or 775 permissions. Should it be this complicated?

Hey Yashar,

It should not be that complicated and before you go looking at folder permissions, I would like to have a look at your Captify Content parameters.
Could you add a screenshot here or log a support ticket with some Joomla logins?
I only see two articles being output and no broken images so I suspect it might have to do with your parameters.

Cheers,
Jason.
