Captify stopped working

zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

Hi, captify content was working fine a couple of days ago. Now the dark layer and the title will not appear when you hover over the image.

I updated it to 1.1.14 and now the page that the modules are placed on will not load, all the other pages are fine.

Can you help please?

Hi

I'm getting a white screen on that page - can you turn up error reporting to maximum and copy the error to this thread

Hi Paul, thanks for that. I have set it to development and get this

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class ContentModelArticles in /var/www/web/components/com_content/models/articles.php on line 680

Thanks

Is it possible to briefly set it to maximum?

Have you upgraded anything else apart from the module?

Hi Paul,

I have found the culprit. I was using the NoNumber Modules Anywhere plugin to insert captify into articles. If I turn off that plug in off the page loads (without Captify)

I am going to look at another solution for inserting the modules and come back to you if I still have the original problem.

Many thanks for your time

Thanks for the update :)

We do have a beta version that you could try

I'd always suggest having a backup in place first

No probs Paul, looks like upgrading Joomla to 3.2.3 breaks the ability to load modules in articles

I have now tried loadmoduleinarticle plugin and that throws errors as well.

So I am going to roll back to 3.2.0 and hope I do not get hacked. I will test out your beta before I do and let you know

Does just using the inbuilt loadposition syntax work?

Thats a core Joomla plugin so I'd be surprised if that doesn't work

Good point.

Anyway, i have restored the website from a back up i took before all the updating sent the website south.

This was the origional problem I was trying to fix. As you can see, when you hover over the images there is no effect

movingmountainstrust.org/our-work/mmkenya#education

Is this something the bet version you attached will fix? no idea why this stopped working because as nothing was done to the website

movingmountainstrust.org/our-work/mmkenya#education

I have set error reporting to the max

Hi

Can you disable error reporting now - that was just to see what the error was for the white screen

You do have errors in the console window

Uncaught ReferenceError: spnoConflict is not defined helix.core.js:8
Uncaught TypeError: Object [object Object] has no method 'chosen'

It may be worth trying to reduce the jquery version being loaded as well as tackling these errors

The attached file was to remove a conflict with an update in Joomla

Hmmm the error messages mean nothing to me but the website is using the helix framework.

I will try the jquery thing in the morning and let you know how it goes

Cheers Paul

Hi Paul,

I am back to sorting this problem out again. I took the drastic step of moving it to another hosting company and still no joy.

I have however published it in a module position (as opposed to publishing it in an article) and it has thrown this error

Notice: Undefined offset: 0 in /www/sites/177/25b/www.movingmountainstrust.org/web/libraries/zen/script/handler.php on line 646

Does this mean anything to you?

Thanks

Update I have just applied the fix above and it has messed up every page the modules were on with this message :-(

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class ContentModelArticles in /www/sites/177/25b/www.movingmountainstrust.org/web/components/com_content/models/articles.php on line 680

Maybe it is time to look for an alternative

Thanks for your help anyway

ah sorry to hear that

I would try and resolve the outstanding js errors

Uncaught ReferenceError: spnoConflict is not defined helix.core.js:8

Uncaught TypeError: Object [object Object] has no method 'chosen'

As they may well trip up other extensions

Good luck with the site

Thank Paul, the fix has totally thrown everything out. I have tried deleting every trace but as soon as I install a fresh version I get errors.

Is it worth trying Zentools (which I believe can deliver a similar effect) or am i likely to get the same errors.

I don't mind paying for it but we are a charity and I have to ensure everything I spend works

thanks

Right please don't use the "fix" as its not working for you - very sorry about that

The errors currently showing on the site are a potential spanner in the works regarding zentools and any potential Javascript extension - I can't really guarantee it will work

That said with a membership we would be able to look into the site via a ticket if required

I'd suggest waiting to this evening and then I can ask a developer for an input on the errors
