A client would like to have protected documents for just a few to access.

We will give them passwords and login's. We also do not want them to create their own accounts.

I've played with the "Login" page link on the menu option, is there a better way to do this?

Also when I plug in redirect link, then login in, it takes my to a logout page, not the page with the content. Below is link ...from Menu its the forum link.

Sounds like you need a subscription component to do that kind fo work.

Best bet is to take a look at the subscription options here:

extensions.joomla.org.

It's certainly possible but you either need to customise J (via template overrides) or via a component.

I'm still working on trying to get my login form to work in Joomla 2.5

When I log in using a member login it simply goes to a logout page.

I do have it redirecting to a page I've made, but it doesn't seem to see it after logging. Do I need to make the link in a hidden menu?

You can use the TxAVF - TxAVF2013 to login and test .. I want to redirect it to a K2 Item "Forum Discussion Questions", I guess I'm not linking this correctly.

That login doesn't seem to work any more, but what about using the redirect component to get users to the correct page after login?
