Moving DB

zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

Hi, we are building a new version of our K2 based site with Ascent2 template on a new Joomla installation with Siteground. The live site (Portal template) is also with them. They have offered to copy our DB and all files to the new installation. However, I want to avoid copying certains components (eg due to a hack through our previous ISP, I want a fresh install of Admin Tools Pro, as well as ditching es CompoJoom CMC). Is there anything I should be especially aware of? Perhaps template issues from T3 to ZenGrid4? tks for any indications at all. Philip

Hi Phillip,

T3 compared to Ascent2 uses different position names so you would need to move modules around a little

You will need to install new extensions for the Acent2 template - you will need to replace JB type with the Shortcodes plugin

Obviously you will no longer need the t3 plugin either

With the host being siteground you should be alright php version wise

The template uses zentools2 instead of zentools version 1 - depending on the layouts and the number of them you are may want to upgrade
