Zen Base installation

zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

I just installed Joomla Zebbase installer package on my domain : www.newbeginnings.nl/
From scratch.
Unfortunately I am new with Joomla and investigating if this can be a tool for my website.

1.
However there are a lot of symbols on the page that have nothing to do with the website.
I have no idea what option I should change or how to get rid of these symbols. :(

2.
In the documentation it says : ZenGridFramework v2 => REMOVE IT
I searched for this plugin in de plugin manager. Couldn't find it.

How can i see if I have installed ZenGridFramework v2 ?

thanks

Hi Bodhi,

1. Could you provide a screenshot or your website address so that we can check it?

2. If you could not search for it, that means it is not installed and you can safely ignore it.

Cheers,

Hi,

Could you please disable css compression and enable development mode in the template settings.

Also disable caching in global configuration if you have it enabled.

I believe this may be a problem with your sever running the varnish cache extension which doesn't work well with dynamic sites. If possible you should disable it for this domain.

Regards,

Rob

Hi Robwent.

This is the status.

1. I enabled development mode in the template settings This automatically disables CSS compression if I am right. (option disappears in General tab)
2. caching was already disabled in global configuration

This doesnt seem to coreect the problem however :-(

Do you have another idea ?

Hi,

The code you are seeing is the banner images which have been converted by something to a data uri rather than showing the actual html outputted by joomla, but inserted incorrectly into the page.

So I still think this is a problem with your server. If it is not varnish then there may be something else on there which is attenpting to speed up your site loading by doing this.

Please first, clear and purge joomla's cache (even though it may not be on).
If the problem is still there. Disable the homepage slideshow module. Or try changing the image folder it uses.

Alas no luck....

- Purged cache twice -> no result
- Disabled frontpage slideshow (position banner) -> no result only that picture of banner also disappeared.

Is it possible someone had a look in my backend to see if what I might be overlooking. Especially since I am new at joomla. (even if the desciptions and help is pretty clear and I could find and execute all the instructions)

Hi,

It's not the banner, it's something between the logo and the top nav.
You can open a ticket with super admin details and ftp so we can take a look but I really think this is down to your hosting.

The following user(s) said Thank You: Bodhi
I asked help from server provider making use of your comments.

"I believe this may be a problem with your sever running the varnish cache extension which doesn't work well with dynamic sites"

I was asked to add the line : header add "disablevcache" "true" to htaccess
Will know in 30 minutes if it helps.

I hope so but have my doubts.
If it doesn work I will open a ticket.

Thanks for all your help so far !!

Hi

your issue is fixed now. Problem was corrupted file header.php, probably got corrupted during file upload. So I replaced that file and all is ok now.
