Elevate: Front End "Submit an article" error

zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

Hi There
There seems to be an error with the Elevate Template Front End User Menu "Submit an Article" menu tab and corresponding article submission form. Everytime I try to use the "Image" and "insert" tab i get nothing.... ie it is not associating with the image location.

Any ideas please?

Hi Jay,

What wysiwyg editor are you using?

Thats joomla related and not template related.

Thanks for the reply. As far as I can tell I am using the TinyMCE 2.0 editor. The "insert" image works fine in the back end, but does not work on the front end. Could you suggest where I should post this to the Joomla Team?

Cheers

Hi Jay,

Try using JCE. If it still happens with JCE joomlacontenteditor.com - then it may be a template issue. When I said a joomla issue I didnt mean a bug :) just that the issue most likely related to other aspects of the setup, rather than the template.

Ok,
So I installed JCE and its works fine for my purposes. I still have the same problem with the image button on the front end so I decided to disable it and just use the JCE image tool instead. However now I have another problem.... on the Front End in 'Submit an Article' link the background of the JCE editor is black and text appears white. JCE editor works as normal on the back end.
I have googled around and it would seem this has something to do with the template editor settings. I have attached an screen shot FYI.

Could you please provide specific instructions on how to change this setting in the CSS editor or template?

Cheers

Hi Jay,

Elevate comes with a editor_content.css which basically resets the background colour. This tutorial here is for j1.0 but you basically just need to change mambot for plugin and you should be fine:

docs.joomla.org/Why_are_the_backgrounds_of_your_WYSIWYG_editor_fields_colored%3F

OK so I have spent another 3 hours trying to fix this but i don't know anything about CSS or Mambots. I just want the background to be white on editor of the standard Elevation "Submit an article" menu. Which file do I edit?

Please help... I am going nuts!

Thanks for the offer, but this site is still only on my local machine, getting it online will be another challenge. The only thing I have changed from the default Elevate Grey Template is install JCE editor as advised by you due to the other issue the default editor. This must be a simple fix?

I could arrange a hamachi login if you like?

Cheers

Ok I just did it locally:

1. Go to components -> JCE --> Configuration
2. Scroll down to use Template CSS and set to no.
3. Make sure the custom css path (just below it) looks like this: templates/$template/css/editor_content.css

Ive attached a screenshot of my admin area which gives me a white background and access to the template styles in the content editor.

Also do you see this line in the source of the page when you are editing an article?

content_css: "http://localhost:8888/joomla/159/JB_Elevate_Quickstart_J1.59_v1.0.1/templates/jbelevation/css/editor_content.css",
